Celebrate 2019 Taiwan Pride with the parade, seminars, and parties!
In May 2019, Taiwan became the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, which makes this year’s pride month all the more meaningful for the LGBT community. You can join the annual pride parade in Taipei on 10/26, with the parade route starting at the Taipei City Hall plaza and ending in front of the Presidential Office Building. Clubs
Triangle
While Triangle is not strictly a gay club, do pay attention to the events hosted by WERK. You’re guaranteed to have a good time with people dressed up in elaborate costumes and makeup.
G*star Club
You can enjoy a wild night of dancing at G*star with a young, attractive crowd. The club’s layout also allows guests to dance and “be seen” on a stage.
TABOO Night Club
The only lesbian bar/club in Taipei, Taboo is known for good music and fun vibe. Some have even called it a “women’s paradise.”
Wonder Bar & Lounge
A cozy, welcoming bar for queers to hang out. To celebrate the same-sex marriage legalization in Taiwan, Wonder is collaborating with LEZS, a women-focused party planner, to throw an after-party for this year’s Pride parade on 10/26.
Fairy Taipei
A trendy bar with fairylike interior decor where you’ll find the most fashionable people in town. It’s good for cocktails but the food won’t disappoint either. There’s also a basement dance floor if you want to move your body after a few drinks ;)
ABRAZO BISTRO
Abrazo is always packed on weekends. It's one of the hippest LGBT bars in Taipei right now and you can catch a lot of flirty glances. If you’re down for great music and a friendly crowd, definitely come here for a fun night.
Goldfish Bar
A cocktail bar with an entrance that resembles a fish tank. The clientele here mainly consists of bears and muscular types.
Commander D
A kinky bar for BDSM lovers. Commander D regularly hosts BDSM-themed or costume events for the LGBT community. You can experience the boldest of Taipei in this leather-heavy bar. It also has a second location on the second floor of the Red House.
Cafe Dalida
The most popular outdoor LGBT bar in the Red House area. Cafe Dalida sometimes hosts “RuPaul’s Drag Race” viewing parties. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can even catch quality drag shows that’ll have the entire audience laughing and throwing things around. It’s best to go with a small group of friends and enjoy Taipei’s outdoor atmosphere.
Hunt Taipei
An intimate gay bar with themed events like wrestling night and towel party where you’re only allowed to wear nothing but a small white towel.
Bacio Taipei
If you’re looking for an intimate space for chitchats and strong cocktails, come to Bacio. Bacio is the Italian word for “love” and this bar strives to make every customer feel loved and relaxed.

Drag Brunch @ Toasteria Cafe
Bouncy Babs hosts a monthly drag brunch at Toasteria Cafe where guests can watch a fun drag show, play games, and drink cocktails on a Sunday. Follow Bouncy Babs’ Facebook page for fun events around the city beyond drag brunch.
h*ours
h*ours cafe’s owners are pro-LGBT and they proudly promote the space as “having all utensils safely washed by HIV-positive people.” You can enjoy a lazy afternoon here with a cup of coffee while playing with two kitties and one puppy.
Bear Junkies
You can probably guess the vibe from its name, Bear Junkies. It’s a great place to socialize with cute bears and even the tea here is served in a bear-sized mug.
Daytime
228 Peace Memorial Park
Why 228 Peace Memorial Park? It’s historically a place for gay couples and friends to gather at night since most of their families wouldn’t have allowed those relationships back in the day. It was also a major scene in Pai Hsien-yung’s classic novel, Crystal Boys.
The Red House
Originally a theater, the Red House used to screen second-run and adult movies. Gays usually lingered around here because of its proximity to 228 Peace Memorial Park and its cheap tickets — they could buy some time and space with their lovers behind the theater seats or in the bathrooms. Today, the building is converted into a creative/designer market. It’s an iconic building situated right in the center of Taipei’s gay district.
LOVE BOAT SHOP
Love Boat is a fashion and lifestyle shop for the lesbian community and a cultural hub for people to gather in a cafe salon to chat, get a tarot reading, or attend workshops.
GinGin Bookstore
The first LGBT-themed cultural shop in Asia. It has a unique selection of mangas, movies, and even adult toys.
